How do I remove duplicate data-uuids?

Data-uuids are unique ids that exist on every element in Habitat. They allow for operations like highlighting and creating notes in the readers, creating comments in Habitat, and creating direct links to specific locations in the content.

Here is the easiest way to resolve duplicate data-uuids:

  1. Copy the duplicate id from the report (in the s9id column).
  2. Click the link to the page on the report, and search(CTRL+F or ⌘+F) for that duplicate id.
  3. Delete the data-uuid and leave the field blank, and Habitat will automatically add a new ID.
  4. Repeat steps 1-3 for any additional duplicate ids.

To prevent duplicate ids in the future, we recommend duplicating content by using the "Duplicate Page" command by right-clicking on the TOC sidebar, or copying/pasting from the WYSIWYG editor instead of code view.
