When I upgrade to 2.0, I can't see the notes of those I used to follow. Where are they?

Inkling has recently released version 2.0 for iPad. This major update opens up your textbook to better collaboration inside the book by allowing you to make your notes available to everyone, and vice versa. Now, students can more easily find the notes of their professors or experts, use suggested discussions to find new discussion threads and people to follow, and study with it all in a notebook.

In order to facilitate these new features, we had to decide between making existing users’ notes automatically public or private when they upgraded. Because your privacy is of the utmost importance to us, we’ve made all of your previous notes, and those of the people you follow, automatically private.

What does this mean for you?

1. When others upgrade to 2,0, they will no longer be able to see your notes, unless you choose to make each note public.

2. Once you upgrade to 2.0, the notes from those users that you previously followed will no longer be visible in your Inkling textbook, as they will become automatically private. You can, however, go back and make your old notes public individually.

3. When you now make notes in 2.0, you can choose to make that note publici.e. for anyone to see, including your followers and those who find your notes through suggested discussionsor private just to you.
